That truly is ridiculous. I probably wouldn't have even caught on to that. Good for you for noticing. It's amazing how silly things sound now when you're out of the Org. When you're in, you are waiting on there every word. scary how misleading it is. chris

the last circuit assembly i attended..
by candidlynuts instill clinging to the hope that the brothers would have some kind of help for people like me.. seeking encouragement etc... the only talk that stood out and that made me totally angry was a talk about forgiveness and how in the new system king david would be resurrected along with the man he had killed so he could have his wife... and how the man that was killed would have to forgive david or would lose his chance at everlasting life.. 1. why would they even speculate on stuff like this .
2. how the heck did that help me or anyone else.
3. if i was the fella i'd be resurrected just to kick king davids ass.. 4.i was infuriated at the comment in the talk " if (was his name uriah?

I need stories of W.T. related suicides/attempts for discussion w/ daughter
by hubert inmy wife and i are having discussions with our bible study daughter lately, and she is getting together at our house with our other daughter who is not involved with j.w.
's, tonight.
she says she wants to see all of us, and have pizza together for supper.

I read your post and felt I had to reply. I'm glad to hear that you had a nice evening with your family. Those moments are so precious. Treasure them. Here's a bit of my story. I hope it helps. I was a confused teen due to the truth. I tried to commit suicide at 14 as did my sister. She is 4 years my senior. We were raised in the truth. I now am 33. I was inactive with my husband for several years. I tried to go back. When I did. I felt worse going back then I did not being there. There was so much pressure from the elders and our bible study to do more, more, more. I had a nervous break down and tried to commit suicide again. As you can see, I failed both times. But I don't blame depression, or post pardom depression, I blame the Org. and the feelings of worthlessness that they pile on you. You can never do enough. Especially as a depressed person. They pretend to understand but they just don't . All you are is a failure because you aren't doing all you can to please Jehovah. When I told my Mom that I tried to commit suicide. All she said to me and I mean all Was "Who's going to study with KSJdlkfjlk(MY son). " She wasn't sad, nothing. That was the reaction of a witness mother. The only thing that has saved me, and I mean really saved me is this discussion forum. Without this board I don't know where I would be right now. It's a brief update but it's true. The socalled apostates on this board have saved me. Thanks guys. I love you all. All the best to you. Chrissie

my magazine q has taken off here in london, canada.
each month i will have an overall theme...october's is faith and we'll be dealing with several different belief systems.

a very nice young girl, it was, offering me the ?keep on the watch?
magazine.. i let her make her pitch, which was mostly all about how terrible the world was today, and then just replied with enough interest for her to keep going, without giving anything away.

It does say in the Bible that nobody will know the hour or the time of the end. I am right on that aren't I, because that scripture sure doesn't seem to stand out at all to JW's. I think they skip that one all together. Either that or they sure are good at missing the point.

I have heard that phrase used many a time in talks etc. They obviously don't know where we are in the stream of time because they keep asking the same damn question. I'm sure Bro. i've also heard of how some in the congregation were petrified of the elders and of course, there were those that said they were either only men or that they were direct representatives of jehovah god himself.
